I had an experience with a grown man very much like this one in the picture, alone walking his dog all the time. He had spoken at me unsolicited for not wearing a mask inside my building. A few days later I confronted him as politely as possible, and told him that walking alone and outside with a mask makes no rational sense, and that he was suffering from a mental illness. It seemed that I actually got through to him because the next time he saw me outside he sheepishly pulled the mask off his face. So interventions are possible.

You told him he was suffering from a mental illness? Good. That's jarring. I guess "jarring" is what some people need. For others though, it'll just make them retreat into their reeeeeing caverns of fear and double down on their mental illness. And I guess for these, there's nothing we can do. Or maybe should do. They've chosen their path, right?

Good for you though for doing what you did. Every small step back towards sanity is worth it, imo.

Every time I saw / see someone outside or in their car w/ a mask on, I have muttered to myself “f’ing moron!” Practically the only words out of my mouth for 2+ years, there are so many of them 😂

It’s awful because it’s a symbol to us, of how a large percentage of the masses have been fooled by the propaganda. Extremely discouraging.

It absolutely is & I fear for the next round of “mandates”…there will be more & the multitudes of “f’ing morons” will celebrate

We should not allow them another round of mandates. No. Absolutely not.

This is where we really have to get deep into our hearts and minds:

It's not up to them. It's up to us.

Never again will we or should be concede our rights. They're our rights, not theirs, and we need to be more passionate and clear on this than ever before.

We CAN'T become "the mob", but what we MUST become, and have to some degree over these last two years, is the hammer. The firewall.

You SHALL NOT PASS, petty tyrants. You, me, everyone that resonates with this, ARE the front lines, now and forevermore, and if we take up our responsibility, they have no chance. We've beat them back this year, we're continuing to take back ground, but we have far to go and need to be in this for the long game.

The past 2+ years have shaken my faith in my fellow man to its core. So many want to be taken care of, or go-along-to-get-along, or are just brainless. I knew so many who put aside their common sense about an experimental poison & bodily autonomy because they wanted to “travel” or return to “normal”. And then had miserable travel experiences & no return to normal anyway because their compliance didn’t matter as the goal posts kept moving. I remain defiantly un-vax’d & will never knowingly take the poison but the past 2 years were a trial run to see what they could get away with.

Turns out they got away w/ A LOT & very quickly & thoroughly w/ no bleat from the sheep

They don't come back. They were living up to this moment with their fingertips hanging off the ledge. This moment gave them permission to let go.

That's a fantastic insight. "Gave them permission..."

It's amazing how all humans need sometimes it's permission, either given directly or intangibly.

You're right. Covid, and all of the enablers of this madness, gave people who were desperate for excuses permission to cash those excuses in and then spent two plus years validating that consent.

Gato has been taking the words right out of my mouth for the past 2 years on this topic, and I can tell you as someone who used to be on the front lines of mental health it's really that simple. A very significant fraction of us have been completely unable to function in society under their own power for at least 2 generations and have only really kept themselves alive because of the extensive social welfare systems, implicit and explicit, of Western liberal democracies. In developing countries, these people would just die.

Being told that it's time to give up the pretext of trying to "adult" is tremendously liberating and why the narrative of a Great Reset is very attractive.

And that's a terrifying thing. To see grown adults really just revert back to scared, helpless children looking for someone to "keep them safe" and "take care of them" is so disheartening and dangerous.

There will always be those looking to rule over the scared. And frankly, if people want other people to rule over them because they're too tired or fearful or lazy, ok, whatever. But don't lump me into that and force me to bend my knee. I'm proud of my ability to navigate a hard, adult world. Don't take that away from me. Which is why the last two years have been absolutely maddening for me, because "they" did just that... Took away my privilege to be an adult.

Because those two ideas can't coexist.

I'm going to avoid stealing from myself for a future article, but that's the long and short of it.

These are incompatible realities and the social disorder we've seen since before covid is a slow-simmering civil war. You can't have a "total care" society existing in the same space as one with personal responsibility and inequity of outcomes. You just can't.

We can't have it both ways, and only one of those ways offers more power to those seeking it.

Haha, sounds like we're both about to write a similar article on this.

Every time we talk about "adult" or being an adult and allowing me to be left alone to be my own adult, I think of this from Andy Samberg

This is the vast cohort of "humans" called lemmings. We never truly knew how many of them walk among us, although there were symptoms. Wokism, left activism, saving the planet, etc. - they were falling for any crazy agenda on the menu du jour. Now they were marked head-to-toe with the Covid dye for all to see. The result has been massive and astounding. Normal people are now a tiny minority in most Western countries. We were walking among them, not the other way around! That's the starkest conclusion. The US is a positive exception as it seems to be 60:40 and hopefully turning 50:50 after the lemmings die out a bit.

Let them self-identify; who cares. Act like they don't exist in life. If they are still wearing a mask while walking outside, I'm sorry you don't want them in your life, period.

I know a few too- young- very educated and successful pre🦠- and now in a 🐰🕳with the narrative. Unfortunately they are very dear friends to me & at the beginning of all of this I felt like I was the crazy one to continue to live my life the way I knew was appropriate but I’ve come to a peace (and when I’m around them it’s the elephant in the room 🦠)but I make it very obvious that I have continued to live my life in the same vein and it’s OK! I now view them the same as my alcoholic friends- I can’t rationalize with you but I can live by example (former alcoholic and possible future one too myself 😁- but NEVER a jabber)

It does seem like there's such an intentional plan to dehumanize people. To systematically break people through constant propaganda and messaging to turn them into drones, bots.

This guy in the picture, he's a bot. Since the start of "pandemic", my wife and I joke when we see people walking around our neighborhood, especially people we don't know or haven't seen before. "Oh look, there's a new bot." is our phrase.

And really some of these people walking around, they just seem to have no soul left. They're just out wandering, mouth agape, staring off into space. It's kind of disturbing. When I see someone that actually seems alive, I engage them, and it's usually wonderful.

Maybe I'll start posting my Bot walkers more regularly, lol.
