Fact and Fiction Merge In One Stunning Parallel

I’m a big fan of Max Brook’s zombie novel, World War Z. I’ve read the book and listened to it on audio several times, and recommend it as much as possible in any format.

It’s a fascinating story told through the eyes of a journalist interviewing survivors in a post-world war zombie apocalypse. The vignettes start before the outbreak and end as the world cleans up and rebuilds. It’s an amazing tale of human behavior, the power of fear (which is the real virus), and the resiliency of the human spirit.

One of the stories (again, keep in mind, this is a work of FICTION, published in 2006!) involves one of the survivors, a pharmaceutical executive (“Breck” Scott) who’s in exile in Antarctica. He’s hiding from the world’s governments under the protection of Russia because he created the drug dubbed Phalanx, which was marketed as the cure for the zombie virus that was spreading throughout the world.

Read this amazing FICTIONAL description of the story, particularly the end:

Through sham clinical trials and embellished user results, Scott rushed to market a vaccine that while based in some semblance of science, completely failed to stop the spread of the zombie virus. The people around the world initially hailed him and his product as a savior, and he makes billions pushing it out.

The world temporarily claims victory over this mysterious virus, pumping the vaccine into as many people as possible. The false sense of security that sets in, and then the descent into absolute terror as the product fails, are shocking to read about in the context of Covid and what we’ve endured with our very own Phalanx over the past year plus.

Pfizer, Moderna, etc., ARE our version of Phalanx. They have been rushed to market because there was a need. The need was SOMETHING to make people feel safe, to feel protected. They needed a pacifier, a security blanket, and big pharma was more than happy to provide something that has given fragile minds and failing hearts a soma, a placebo, a lullaby that they can sing to themselves to try to go to sleep at night.

The fact is, all these vaccines have done is delay the larger terror and sow a division into the fabric of humanity, the likes of which we’ve never seen. This fairy tale of a vaccine has indeed become much more of a nightmare, and more and more people are waking up out of that terror each day.

Right now, your friends and family believe in a modern day, actual version of Phalanx. I’ve literally heard people talk about it being like a suit of armor, a bio-shield to repel the horrors of the Rona. I believe that as the vaccines continue to fail spectacularly and epically, the hate and terror from those who have been duped, for those who truly believed they were getting a suit of armor, will only increase and mutate into something dangerous.

We are already seeing waves of it. Be prepared for a tsunami as more and more data comes out, and stand firm in your convictions. If you can, love those who will wake up and see their errors. Help them to heal and do your best to assuage their fears. You know how benign Coronavirus has now become, and you also know that early treatment, a robust immune system, and common sense are much more of a phalanx against this boogeyman than anything these vaccines can provide.

The terror is real, the failure is almost complete, and the time is now for us to change the narrative.
